FORECASTLE PHOTOS: Devo!

No two ways around it, Devo slayed at Forecastle. They might not have had the insane stage antics that the Flaming Lips did, but hell, they pulled off at least 4 wardrobe changes and they still sound great. The set blended old faves (‘Whip It,’ ‘Jocko Homo’) and new stuff from the recently released Something for Everybody (their first album in 20 years). Unlike, say, The Smashing Pumpkins’ newer material, Devo’s new stuff is completely in line with the old fan favorites, and they mixed in enough old stuff to keep the fans happy. Coming from someone who has seen the Lips probably 5 times (and who loves new wave something awful), DEVO probably pulled off my favorite show all weekend. Unfortunately, we were only allowed in the photo pit for the first couple songs, so I wasn’t able to capture all the sweet costume changes.
